Scholarships
Delta Township Young Person of the Year Award and Scholarship - Eligibility for the annual Young Person of the Year Award and Scholarship will be based on fulfilling all the following criteria:

  • Is a verified present resident of Delta Township
  • Is a verified high school senior (12th grade) whether enrolled in a traditional high school (public or private) or home-schooled
  • Has excelled in either academics, music, arts, athletics, etc., volunteered in the community, or successfully overcame a personal or physical challenge.
  • Is planning to continue education by attending a post-secondary college, university, technical, or trade school.
The deadline is Thursday, September 26, 2019. The event will take place on Tuesday, October 22 at the Crowne Plaza Lansing West Hotel beginning at 5:30 p.m. The nominee must be a senior (going into the 2019-2020 school year). The Michigan Council of Women in Technology (MCWT) Foundation - Is pleased to announce its scholarship and laptop programs for the 2019-2020 academic year. Click here to apply online. Applications are open to women who are interested in pursuing careers such as computer science, information systems, computer engineering, software engineering, computer information systems, digital forensics and software engineering. This is not a complete list, but rather serves as examples.

AXA Achievement Scholarship - For applicants who are active in their community, have led a project that benefits others, or have overcome personal challenges. Apply online at www.axa.com/achievers. Further information is available in the Student Services Office. Deadline is December 15, 2019.

Attendance Counts!
ATTENDANCE COUNTS! Attendance is an essential component to your academic success! Remember if you have been absent 7 or more times in any class this trimester, you may be a risk of losing credit and the privilege of participating in any extra curricular activities. Saturday schools for this trimester will be held on the following dates: Sept. 21st, Oct. 19th and Nov. 2nd from 8:00-11:00am in the media center. Please speak with your Dean of Students to schedule Saturday School if needed.


Band Parking Lot
Students, the band parking lot will be closed all day when the varsity football team has a home game (September 27th and October 18th). There is additional parking across the bridge going toward Beagle Elementary School. Thank you for your understanding and patience.


GLHS Parking Passes
Students, just a friendly reminder that ALL vehicles parked on school property, during school hours, require a 2019-20 parking pass. Parking passes are $20 each & can be purchased in the main office from Ms. Ashley or on the high school website under Parent/Student Resources. Vehicles without parking passes will be ticketed.


Anime Club
The Anime Club would like to send out a special invitation to all freshmen to join us. Anime is the term used for all genres of Japanese cartoons. Join us and share our love for all things anime and manga. The club meets after school, Thursdays in Mr. Ortiz's room, room number 221. If you have any questions, please feel free to drop by Mr. Ortiz’s room anytime to get more information.


Comet PRIDES Program
Are you struggling with homework?

Do you need help writing a paper?

How are your organization skills?

Do you just need a quiet place to work?

Please come to the Comet PRIDES Program every Tuesday after school in the Media Center from 2:45 – 3:45. Teachers will be there to help you work, get organized, or study. The Comet PRIDES Program stands for Positively Reaching Individuals by Delivering Extra Support. There will be a sign in sheet each week, but all students are welcome to attend.


Ele's Place Support Group
Grand Ledge High School and Ele's Place are again offering an 8-week grief and loss support group at the high school during the school day. This is designed to help students who have experienced the death of someone important to them. Students will have the opportunity to talk about their feelings and experiences with others who understand and express their feelings through a variety of activities and learn positive coping skills. There is still time to sign up for the next group that is beginning September 24th. Please contact Mr. Mills in Student Services if you are interested!


Last Year's Yearbooks On Sale
Attention Grand Ledge students! If you forgot to order your 2018-2019 yearbook, we now have a limited number of last year's 2018-2019 Yearbooks available for sale for the discounted price of $75.00. These books will be on sale for the week of September 16-23 only. Checks for the books can be made out to Grand Ledge High School, and students or parents can purchase them in the Main Office or the Journalism room, room 113. Thanks!


Saturday School Dates
There are only 2 Saturday schools remaining for this trimester: The next Saturday school will be October 19th and the last Saturday school will be November 2nd. Saturday school is from 8:00 -11:00am in the Media Center. Remember if you have been absent 7 or more times in any class, without documentation, you may be at risk of losing credit. Please speak with your Dean of Students to schedule Saturday School if needed.


Cold Brew Coffee Now Available
The School Store "Comet Connection" is now serving Cold Brew Coffee Lattes for $2.50! You can purchase them during both lunches.


DECA Meeting
DECA, the Marketing Club is holding its first meeting on Oct. 17th at 3:00pm in the cafeteria. Please see Mr. Little in room 001 (next to the school store) for more information.
