Lansing for Cesar E. Chavez Scholarship - Applicants must attend a school in the Greater Lansing Area and have a minimum 2.0 grade point average. Applications available in the Student Services Office. Deadline is March 20, 2019.

Wacousta Lions Club - Consideration will be given for community service and involvement. Affiliation with Lions Club is not required. Applications are available in the Student Services Office. Deadline is March 22, 2019.

Wacousta-DeWitt Masonic Lodge - Applicant must be a senior who plans to attend full-time at an accredited college, university, trade or vocational school. Applications are available in the Student Services Office. Deadline is March 31, 2019.

LAFCU Write to Educate Contest - Available to seniors who will be attending Lansing Community College or Baker College next year. Two $2,500 scholarships will be awarded along with a $500 donation to a local charity. Apply online at lafcu.com/lafcumyway or via U.S. mail. Applications available in the Student Services Office. Deadline is March 31, 2019.

Beagle Elementary School PTO - Student must have attended Beagle Elementary School; preference will be given to those who have volunteered time with the Beagle PTO or had parents who donated time. Applications available in the Student Services Office. Deadline is April 1, 2019.

Wacousta Order of the Eastern Star - The applicant will furnish a short essay on the field of study they intend to follow and why that field interests them. Applications available in the Student Service Office. Deadline is April 1, 2019.

Junior League of Lansing - Senior must be involved in community service and volunteerism. Financial need will be considered. Applications available in the Student Services Office. Deadline is April 1, 2019.

Grand Ledge Junior Comets Softball Boosters Scholarship - Two $250 scholarships will be granted. Student must have played within the Junior Comets softball program. Preference will be given to those who have volunteered time with the G.L. Junior Comets or had parents who donated time. Applications are available in the Student Services Office. Deadline is April 1, 2019.

Michigan Retailers Association - 21 scholarships will be awarded in Michigan. Student or his/her parent must be employed at a business that is a member of MRA. Apply online at bit.ly/mrascholarships. Deadline is April 1, 2019.

Wacousta PTIA Scholarship - Student must have attended Wacousta Elementary School. Scholarships are chosen by a drawing. Applications available in the Student Services Office. Deadline is April 12, 2019.

Eaton Federal Savings Bank - Herbert R. Black Memorial Scholarship - One Grand Ledge senior will receive $1,000. Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, preferably show an interest in the business field, and financial need will be considered by the selection committee. Applications available in the Student Services Office. Deadline is April 12, 2019.

Grand Ledge Order of the Eastern Star - Must be a Grand Ledge High School senior with a minimum 2.5 grade point average. Affiliation in or with the Eastern Star is not necessary. Applications are available in the Student Services Office. Application deadline is April 14, 2019.

Lakewood Area Choral Society - Applicants will pursue a major in vocal music education or voice performance at a four year accredited institution. Applications available in the Student Services Office. Deadline is April 17, 2019.

Ryan S. Woodward Memorial Business Scholarship - This is offered to Grand Ledge High School seniors only. Applications available in the Student Services Office. Deadline is April 26, 2019.

Grand Ledge Masonic Lodge Scholarship - Applicants are not required to have any masonic affiliation. Applications are available in the Student Services Office. Deadline is April 26, 2019.

Delta-Waverly Rotary Club Scholarship - Senior must be a resident of Delta Township, have a minimum high school GPA of 2.5 and has demonstrated service to their community and/or school. Applications available in the Student Services Office. Deadline is April 30, 2019.

Vomberg Trumley Foundation Scholarship - This is awarded strictly on the basis of financial need and is renewable throughout the student's college education. Applicant's residence address must be in Eaton County. Apply online at http://vombergtrumleyfoundation.weebly.com/. The deadline is April 30, 2019.

ABC Club of Grand Ledge - Applicant must be a Grand Ledge High School senior. Applications are available in the Student Service Office. Deadline is May 8, 2019.


LAFCU "Write To Educate" Essay Contest
LAFCU "Write To Educate" Essay contest - LAFCU is seeking seniors attending high school in Michigan to participate in our annual Write to Educate essay contest. LAFCU is awarding two $2,500 scholarships, along with a $500 donation to a local charity. Students attending Lansing Community College or Baker College should apply. Deadline is March 31, 2019.

Half Day Schedule for April 19th
GLHS will be operating on a half day schedule on April 19th. School will be dismissed at 10:55am.

2019-20 Virtual Learning Enrollment Is Open
Virtual Learning for the 2019-20 school year is open. The deadline for applying is May 25, 2019.

High School Pompon Team Tryouts
Come join the family! Tryouts for the high school pompon teams are scheduled for April 15-18 at Beagle 6-8pm. An informational parent meeting will be held on April 15 at 6pm also at Beagle. Cap & Gowns For Graduation Are Coming
Seniors - Your graduation caps & gowns arrive Friday, April 12th. Your order will be available for pick-up during both lunch periods in the hallway adjacent to the Student Services Office.


Applications for National Honor Society
Attention sophomores and juniors with a cumulative weighted GPA of 3.5 or greater. Check your school email by Wednesday March 20th to find the information on how to apply to the National Honor Society. Applications will be submitted online through a Google form and will be due by Monday April 15th. Two informational meetings will be held on Tuesday March 21st for you to ask questions about the application process if you choose to attend. The morning meeting will be at 7:20AM in Room 410 and the after-school meeting will be at 2:55PM in the Library.


Third Trimester Saturday School Dates
ATTENTION STUDENTS! ATTENDANCE COUNTS! The following dates are scheduled for Saturday School this trimester from 8:00-11:00am in the Media Center.:

  • April 27th
  • May 18th
  • June 1st
Remember if you have been absent 7 or more times in any class, without documentation, you may be a risk of losing credit. Please speak with your Dean of Students to schedule Saturday School.

Gymnastics MHSAA State Meet 2019
Grand Ledge Varsity Gymnastics was represented at the MHSAA State Individual Finals this last weekend meet by sophomore gymnast, Lizzie Maurer.

Lizzie Maurer competed in Division 1 on Vault, Bars, Beam, Floor and in the All Around. Maurer placed 4th in the All Around with a final score of 36.375. Individual event placements were 2nd on Floor, 6th on beam and 10th on Vault and Bars.

At the event each coach is able to select one gymnast from their team to receive a ‘Good Sportsmanship’ award. Coach Haring selected freshman Amina Vakili. He wanted to recognize her for her perseverance through the season despite personal loss and injury.
